2024-2025 FIRE MEMBERSHIP
It is
again that time of year when we solicit your help through our annual membership
drive. The Volunteer Fire Company of Halfway, MD. Is partnering with you, the
community, and local businesses to recover from the health and economic damage
from the pandemic. We also realize that some of our partners in the community
are struggling to stretch their money and make their budgets work.
Your fire
company continues to add value to our services by replacing a frontline pumper,
adding new emergency medical equipment, and adding career staff and with our
help, make fire station improvements.
The Volunteer Fire Company of Halfway, MD has
provided fire and emergency services to the community since 1949. This includes
mutual aid to our surrounding communities. Our firefighters, EMTs, and Paramedics respond to alarms
24 hours a day, 365 days a year, in all kinds of weather conditions. We
are just a phone call away by dialing 911 for any fire or other emergency.
We are a volunteer
organization. Local and State taxes only cover a small
percent of our expenses. Annual contributions have declined significantly, and other
fund-raising efforts like Bingo, have declined
along with the economy. For those reasons,
we have decided to change our annual fire fund drive
to a fire membership drive that works
the same as our Ambulance Division.
The
membership period runs for one calendar year, from October 1st to September 30th. The
membership will work as follows: If you use our services, your home or
renters’ insurance will be billed for those services. If you ARE
a subscribing member, we will
accept whatever amount the insurance
company pays as payment in full. If you are NOT a subscribing member, your insurance company will be billed, and you will be responsible for whatever amount
your insurance does not cover. Your membership applies
the same each time no matter
how often you may use our fire services in
that calendar year. Membership does not cover services provided for
motor vehicle collisions.
